Oh, send out Your light and Your truth!Let them lead me;
Then I will go to the altar of God, To God my exceeding joy;
And on the harp I will praise You, O God, my God.
Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me?’
Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God. (Psalm 43:3-5)
“My Child, I call you to live in a different place – move pass the place of “feeling” to place of absolute knowing the reality of life in Me. I gave you emotions. That’s part of what it means to be created in My image. Imagine how dull life might be without them. So there is nothing wrong with emotions in and of themselves. But you cannot live this life in Me through emotions only. It is not based on how you feel at any given time. Your feelings, if not completely aligned with My Word and totally submitted to My Spirit, will deceive and mislead you at times. Your feelings are subject to change, but My word and I remain the same yesterday, today and forever. Your feelings don’t change the fact that I Am. Don’t allow yourself to be ruled by your emotions!
Acknowledge them. Don’t deny them. What you feel is what you feel, and until you acknowledge it, We can’t move to the heart and truth of a matter. Yes, acknowledge your feelings before Me; I will never discount them. But I will always point you to a greater reality rooted in My truth. Acknowledge the feelings, but act on the truth.
Do you know one of the things I loved about David? I so loved his realness before Me. His emotions ran the gamut but he was always open with Me concerning what he felt. This was the man who loved Me and sought Me with his whole heart. He knew there was nothing he could hide from Me, so he brought it all to Me — his fear, his confusion, his depression, his sin, his shame, his anger, his desire for vengeance as well as his joy and his love. He brought it all to Me just as I desire you to do.
Bring it to Me. Express it. Cry! Shout! Feel! And know that I feel your anguish! Know that I hurt when you hurt. Let it all out before Me, just like David did. But don’t allow the pain, the confusion, the disappointment, the anger to steal your faith or stifle your worship.
You see, My child, the wonderful thing is that for all his honesty, David knew that from a place of worship all things –even his emotions—would come into proper perspective. In that place of worship, he knew that even his strongest emotions had to line up with My Word. From the place of worship he could see that I was still with him and I would make things right in My way in My time and according to My plan.
So now, My Child, My Precious One, you do the same. Find that place of worship that will open your eyes to a greater reality – the reality of My word. Find that place of worship that will move you beyond what you presently see and feel. Find that place of worship and release the emotions that seek to override the truth of My word. Find that place of worship and come into My Presence. All perspectives change in the light of My presence. In My light, you see light (Psalm 36:9) and even your emotions must bow.
Simply find that place of worship!”
